On the sidelines of the 26th UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) General Assembly in Riyadh, Umid Shadiev, Chairman of the Uzbekistan Tourism Committee, has met with Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, to discuss ways to boost mutual tourist flows.
During the talks, both sides also discussed ways to develop new areas of collaboration, and jointly promote the cultural heritage of the Great Silk Road on the global tourism market, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation, aimed at strengthening strategic tourism partnerships between Uzbekistan and Iran. The agreement includes experience-sharing in workforce training, development of joint travel routes, and organization of cultural events.
