Uzbekistan saw a strong surge in inbound tourism in 2025, welcoming 11.7 million foreign visitors - a sharp increase compared to the previous year.
The number of international travelers entering the country for tourism purposes rose by 3.7 million people, or 46.8 per cent year-on-year, marking one of the fastest growth rates in Uzbekistan’s tourism sector in recent years, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Central Asian countries continued to account for the bulk of foreign arrivals. Kyrgyzstan topped the list with 3.3 million visitors, followed by Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, each contributing 2.7 million tourists. Russia ranked fourth, with 984,400 visitors.
A notable influx was also recorded from Afghanistan, which sent 476,700 tourists to Uzbekistan in 2025, while 370,000 travelers arrived from Turkmenistan.
Among non-CIS countries, China led with 278,900 visitors, followed by Türkiye with 174,900 and India with 80,800. The Republic of Korea also featured among key source markets, with 46,300 tourists visiting the country.
