Uzbekistan’s trade with Turkmenistan totaled $586.6 million from January to July 2025.
The figure marks a 22.5 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2024 ($757.0 million) but reflects a 19.1 percent increase over 2023 ($492.4 million), The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Imports from Turkmenistan accounted for $503.1 million, showing that Uzbek demand for Turkmen goods-particularly energy resources, chemicals, and raw materials-continues to drive bilateral trade.
Overall, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover in the first seven months of 2025 reached $44.4 billion, up $7.38 billion, or 19.9 percent, year-on-year.
Uzbekistan trades with 197 countries worldwide, with the largest shares of foreign trade turnover held by China (18.2 percent), Russia (16.1 percent), Kazakhstan (5.9 percent), Türkiye (3.6 percent), and South Korea (2.2 percent).
For comparison, trade between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan grew by more than 85 percent during the same period.
