Uzbekistan, Russia Forge Stronger Regional Bonds with Over 30 Agreements

The second meeting of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia took place, bringing together top officials and business leaders to deepen cooperation between the two countries’ regions.

The Russian delegation was led by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, while Uzbekistan was represented by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The forum highlighted the growing strategic partnership and alliance between the nations, with 14 Uzbek regions collaborating with over 50 Russian regions on projects worth more than $6.2 billion.

A message from Russian President Vladimir Putin praised the dynamic development of relations, emphasizing the importance of interregional agreements that support joint economic, social, and humanitarian projects, industrial parks, and tech centers.

Key topics discussed included industrial and agricultural cooperation, energy, e-commerce, transport, culture, and education. New trade houses and wholesale centers are being launched, while joint industrial ventures-such as chemical production in Samarkand and fiberglass manufacturing in Nukus-are advancing rapidly.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s greeting underscored the vital role of regional leaders and businesses in expanding mutually beneficial ties.

More than 30 agreements were signed, covering trade, scientific, technical, and humanitarian cooperation-marking a significant step forward in Russia-Uzbekistan regional collaboration.
