Uzbekistan’s Construction Boom Fuels Surge in Building Materials Output

The Uzbek State Statistics Committee has announced that Uzbekistan’s construction materials industry is showing strong and sustained growth, driven by an ongoing wave of infrastructure and housing projects across the country.

The production of ready-mix concrete reached 1,565,400 tons from January to May 2025 - a significant increase of 453,300 tons compared to the same period in 2024, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

This upward trend reflects the growing demand for construction materials spurred by large-scale development initiatives, including new roads, residential areas, and industrial zones.

For context, Uzbekistan produced 955,500 tons of ready-mix concrete in the first five months of 2023, and 1,112,100 tons during the same period in 2024. This consistent rise over three consecutive years highlights the steady expansion of the country’s construction sector.

Experts point to the role of major industrial enterprises and the commissioning of new production capacities-particularly within the framework of public-private partnership (PPP) projects-as key factors behind the growth. Additionally, increased foreign investment in urban infrastructure and road construction is believed to be fueling domestic demand for building materials, especially concrete.
