Uzbekistan, Serbia Cultivate Stronger Agricultural Ties

The Uzbek Ministry of Agriculture has held a high-level meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Serbia, led by Nenad Popović, Serbia’s Minister for International Economic Cooperation, to explore new opportunities for bilateral collaboration in the agricultural sector.

During the talks, both sides reviewed a joint analysis of the current landscape for import and export of agricultural products, emphasizing the importance of increasing mutual trade volumes and unlocking untapped market potential, The Caspian Post informs via Uzbek media.

Discussions focused on advancing scientific research, the digital transformation of agriculture, and innovative processing technologies for fruits and vegetables. The delegations acknowledged the importance of sharing knowledge and expertise to modernize their respective agricultural industries.

A significant part of the meeting centered on education and workforce development, with both countries expressing interest in launching joint training programs and academic exchanges for students and agricultural professionals. The initiative aims to create a sustainable foundation for the transfer of global best practices and modern agricultural techniques.

Looking ahead, the Uzbek and Serbian delegations proposed joint projects in viticulture and winemaking, while also committing to deepen cooperation in agritech and capacity building.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to elevating their strategic partnership in agriculture through the implementation of practical, mutually beneficial projects.
