Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Serbia, Oybek Shakhavdinov, has met with Nikola Stojanović, Serbian State Secretary for Foreign Trade, to discuss expanding bilateral trade and labor cooperation.
The meeting, held in Belgrade, focused on ways to intensify economic, trade, and investment ties between the two nations, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
Both sides underlined the importance of unlocking the full potential of the partnership and building on existing momentum.
A key part of the discussion centered on the activation and efficient operation of institutional cooperation mechanisms, including the Uzbek-Serbian Intergovernmental Commission. The two officials also highlighted the need to establish a robust legal framework to support collaboration in priority sectors.
The talks further explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation in the field of labor migration. In this context, the parties discussed the simplification of visa procedures and the possibility of signing intergovernmental agreements aimed at facilitating worker mobility and protecting migrant rights.
