Uzbekistan is set to strengthen its space exploration capabilities through a new partnership with the American aerospace company Vast.

The Ministry of Digital Technologies announced the collaboration following a meeting between Uzbekistan's Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and Rich Leshner, Vice President of Vast, during Shermatov's recent visit to the United States, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

The discussions focused on long-term scientific cooperation, with an emphasis on expanding human potential in space technology. Both parties explored opportunities for Uzbek specialists to participate in upcoming space missions, including the launch of the Haven-1 orbital station. The collaboration could also extend to the development of the Haven-2 station, a potential successor to the International Space Station.

In addition to personnel exchanges, the two sides proposed several initiatives aimed at advancing research in artificial gravity, life support systems, and orbital architecture. They also discussed the establishment of training programs, internships, and laboratories to enhance practical cooperation.

A memorandum of understanding was signed, marking the beginning of broader participation for Uzbek engineers and scientists in international space projects.
