Uzbekistan, Vietnam Eye Closer Political and Economic Collaboration

During a working visit to Hanoi, Uzbekistan’s Legislative Chamber Speaker Nuriddin Ismoilov has met with Vietnam’s National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The talks focused on boosting political, economic, and cultural-humanitarian ties, and intensifying dialogue between the two nations, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

Speaker Ismoilov highlighted Uzbekistan’s ongoing reforms under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the activities of the lower house of parliament, and legislative initiatives aimed at promoting transparency and effective governance.

Tran Thanh Man praised Uzbekistan’s open foreign policy, noting that inter-parliamentary collaboration is a key driver of mutually beneficial relations. Both sides emphasized the importance of parliamentary oversight over agreements, exchanging legislative experience, and leveraging friendship groups to strengthen cooperation.

The discussion also highlighted practical areas for growth, including fertilizer production, logistics, and tourism, reinforcing the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
