Uzbekistan’s Uzbekneftegaz and Chinese company Ximile have discussed joint projects, the supply of compressor equipment and further cooperation.

A key focus of the talks was a project to supply wellhead compressor stations for facilities operated by the Mubarek and Gazli oil and gas production departments, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbekneftegaz.

Under an agreement signed in April this year, Ximile is expected to supply 35 sets of reciprocating compressor units for 12 wellhead compressor stations.

So far, 23 compressors have been manufactured, with 17 having completed testing. A further 14 units have already been delivered to the customer. The first compressor was transported to the construction site of the Zewarda field.

During the meeting, the sides emphasized the need to speed up the production and delivery of the remaining equipment in accordance with the established schedule. Timely commissioning of the compressor stations is considered important for maintaining stable natural gas production levels.

The parties also discussed Ximile’s plans to establish a representative office and service center in Uzbekistan. The move is expected to ensure regular technical maintenance of the equipment, accelerate spare parts deliveries and expand the exchange of expertise between specialists from the two companies.
