The eleventh meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Armenia and Kazakhstan was held remotely on Friday.
Following the meeting, the deputy premiers of the two countries signed a protocol which addressed the agenda matters of bilateral relations, including cooperation in trade, economy, high technology, transport, tourism, health care, and education, The Caspian Post reports citing Armenian media.
Also, Deputy PM Grigoryan delivered an address in which he particularly emphasized the importance of developing relations with Kazakhstan, including within the framework of the EAEU cooperation, and stressed the great unrealized potential in trade and economic partnership.
Mher Grigoryan made a special reference to cooperation in the transport sector, too.
“The Republic of Armenia supports the project to create a multimodal cargo transport route along the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Armenia route.
In parallel, cargo transport is already being carried out along the China-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Armenia route, which indicates the growing interest in expanding transport and logistics ties between our countries.
I believe that these cargo transports can be of a regular nature, especially taking into account the potential interest of Armenian entrepreneurs in the opportunities of the Khorgos International Center for Border Cooperation located on the Kazakh-Chinese border.
The development of interregional transport and logistics infrastructure is especially important for Armenia in the context of the implementation of the Crossroads of Peace infrastructure project [of the country],” noted the deputy premier.
In conclusion, Mher Grigoryan expressed confidence that Armenia and Kazakhstan will continue to strengthen their partnership based on trust, respect, and friendship between the two peoples.
