Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that the country is considering the possibility of importing electricity from Georgia and other countries.

Pashinyan said electricity transmission arrangements can vary depending on supply and demand, with countries sometimes having surplus power while others face periods of increased consumption, Sputnik Azerbaijan reports.

“Sometimes countries have a surplus, sometimes they face increased demand. Given that Armenia is investing in artificial intelligence, we need to determine whether, if necessary, we can import electricity from any country, including Azerbaijan,” Pashinyan said.

The Armenian prime minister linked the discussion to the country’s growing investments in artificial intelligence, which could increase demand for reliable electricity supplies.

Pashinyan said Armenia needs to assess whether electricity could be imported from neighboring and other countries when required.
