Alfred Kocharyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia, welcomed a delegation led by Anoushirvan Mohseni-Bandpey, Deputy Minister of Tourism at Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, The Caspian Post reports, citing Armenian media.
Kocharyan highlighted the historical ties between the two peoples in various fields, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports said in a statement. He noted that Armenia and Iran have a broad agenda for implementing joint programs and expressed confidence that cooperation will continue in the preservation and development of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
The Deputy Minister underscored cooperation in monument restoration, drawing on Iran’s experience, and the preparation of joint Armenian-Iranian submissions to relevant UNESCO heritage lists.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in handicrafts and tourism, along with other issues of mutual interest.
