The Armenian Security Council has announced that Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan is set to visit Austria and Slovakia from September 7 to 10.
During the trip, Grigoryan will conduct a series of official working meetings in Vienna and Bratislava, aimed at strengthening diplomatic and security cooperation between Armenia and the host countries, The Caspian Post reports via Armenian media.
Armenia and Austria established diplomatic relations in 1992. Since then, the two countries have maintained friendly bilateral ties, with cooperation spanning political, economic, cultural, and educational spheres.
Austria has been supportive of Armenia’s democratic reforms and European integration aspirations. Both countries have engaged in high-level visits and political consultations, and Austria hosts a significant Armenian diaspora that contributes to cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
Vienna also plays a notable role in multilateral diplomacy involving Armenia, particularly through its hosting of international organizations such as the OSCE, where Armenia actively participates in discussions on regional security and conflict resolution.
Armenia and Slovakia established diplomatic relations in 1993. Since then, the two countries have developed constructive bilateral ties based on mutual respect and cooperation.
Political dialogue between Armenia and Slovakia has been supported by regular diplomatic contacts and high-level visits. The two countries collaborate within international organizations, including the United Nations and the OSCE, and share common interests in promoting regional stability and democratic values.
Economic cooperation remains modest but growing, with potential for expansion in sectors such as IT, energy, and education. Cultural exchanges and academic partnerships also contribute to strengthening people-to-people ties.
