EU Official in Armenia to Unveil Visa Liberalization Action Plan

On November 5, Arpine Sargsyan, Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia and Senior Official for the Visa Liberalisation Dialogue on Armenia's side, met with Johannes Luchner, Deputy Director-General at the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission, according to a press release from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Deputy Director-General for Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission is in Armenia on November 5-6 to present the EU-Armenia Visa Liberalization Action Plan to the Armenian side, The Caspian Post reports citing Armenian media.

According to Arpine Sargsyan, visa liberalization marked an important phase in the Armenia-EU partnership, aimed at strengthening trust and cooperation with the EU. The Minister emphasized that Armenia regarded the Visa Liberalization Action Plan as a strategic document for reforms in the areas of citizen mobility and public security.

During the meeting, the main directions of the Action Plan were discussed.
