How Many Citizens Are Eligible to Vote in Armenia's 2026 Elections?

The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia has announced the preliminary number of citizens eligible to participate in the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7, 2026.

According to information provided by the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a total of 2,489,031 Armenian citizens have the right to vote in the upcoming elections, The Caspian Post reports, citing Armenian media.

The breakdown by region shows that 843,278 eligible voters reside in the capital, Yerevan. In the regions, 113,302 voters are registered in Aragatsotn, 220,058 in Ararat, 224,696 in Armavir, 178,402 in Gegharkunik, and 213,703 in Lori.

Additionally, 238,979 citizens eligible to vote are registered in Kotayk, 209,519 in Shirak, 101,648 in Syunik, 43,751 in Vayots Dzor, and 101,695 in Tavush.

These figures represent the preliminary data ahead of the parliamentary vote.

On February 6, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan signed a decree appointing June 7, 2026, as the date for the country’s parliamentary elections.

Armenia is a parliamentary republic. The political party that wins the majority in parliament during the vote will have the right to elect the country's prime minister.
