Long Queues Cause Hours-Long Delays at Armenia's Zvartnots Airport

Hundreds of arriving passengers faced hours-long delays at Zvartnots International Airport in Armenia's capital Yerevan early on July 9 after several flights landed almost simultaneously, creating severe congestion at passport control.

The disruption began around 4 a.m. (GMT+4), when large crowds gathered near the immigration checkpoints. Confusion over the queue management barriers led to overcrowding, further slowing the flow of passengers, The Caspian Post reports via tsargrad.

Travelers reportedly waited up to three hours to reach passport control-roughly the same amount of time as a flight from Moscow to Yerevan-prompting frustration among those arriving at the airport.

Among those caught in the delays were players from Armenian football club Noah FC.

Reports said the congestion occurred after five flights arrived within a short period, overwhelming passport control facilities and resulting in lengthy queues for incoming passengers.
