Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

According to the Armenian Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders praised the development of Armenia-India relations and stressed the importance of taking joint steps to bring cooperation to a new level, The Caspian Post reports.

Pashinyan and Modi noted the longstanding strength of Armenia-India friendship and expressed their readiness to continue efforts to deepen bilateral ties.

The prime ministers discussed expanding cooperation in the areas of economy, technology, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, education, infrastructure, investment and tourism.

They also emphasized that further high-level mutual visits would help strengthen the partnership and facilitate the implementation of new joint programmes.

Pashinyan reiterated his invitation for Modi to visit Armenia at a convenient time and expressed his readiness to visit India on an appropriate occasion.

The two sides also exchanged views on other issues of regional importance, including progress in implementing the TRIPP project.
