Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with his Colombian counterpart, Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio Mapy, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The ministers discussed the current state and prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and Colombia, emphasizing the importance of strengthening political dialogue and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, according to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's message on X.

They also explored opportunities to deepen economic ties and cooperation in tourism, education and culture. The sides exchanged views on cooperation through multilateral platforms, including the United Nations, as well as on regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest.

A key outcome of the meeting was the signing of an Agreement between Azerbaijan and Colombia on the mutual exemption of visa requirements for holders of ordinary passports.
