Following the directives of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has initiated a new phase of resettlement in Khidirli village, Aghdam district.
This stage will see the relocation of 104 families, totaling 370 people, The Caspian Post informs via local media.
Following the Second Karabakh war, Azerbaijan regained control over territories that had been under occupation for nearly three decades. In the aftermath, the Azerbaijani government launched a comprehensive reconstruction and resettlement program to restore infrastructure, housing, and public services in the liberated areas. This initiative, often referred to as the “Great Return,” aims to facilitate the safe and dignified return of displaced Azerbaijani citizens to their ancestral lands, revive local communities, and foster sustainable economic and social development. The program includes building new houses, schools, hospitals, and roads, as well as preserving historical and cultural sites.
