Azerbaijan Holds Ukraine to 1-1 Draw in World Cup Qualifier

Azerbaijan’s national football team secured a 1-1 draw with Ukraine in a 2026 FIFA World Cup European qualifier at the Tofiq Bahramov Republic Stadium.

Ukraine took the lead in the 51st minute through Georgi Sudakov, but Azerbaijan’s captain, Emin Mahmudov, leveled the score with a 72nd-minute penalty, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

The match was overseen by a team of referees from Greece.
