On July 9, Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov received an Italian delegation led by Admiral Giacinto Ottaviani, National Armaments Director at the Italian Ministry of Defense.

During the meeting, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov praised defense cooperation between the two countries, noting that it is based on their strategic partnership, The Caspian Post reports, citing Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry.

He emphasized that Azerbaijan-Italy relations are of particular importance across all sectors, including defense.

Expressing his appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality extended to the delegation, Admiral Giacinto Ottaviani highlighted the importance of reciprocal visits and the exchange of experience.

The Italian official expressed confidence that military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy would make a significant contribution to strengthening the defense capabilities of both countries.

The meeting, which was also attended by Luca Di Gianfrancesco, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Azerbaijan, included an exchange of views on matters of mutual interest related to military cooperation, military-technical cooperation, and military education.
