Azerbaijan-NATO Cooperation Deepens Through IPCP

As part of the 2025 Individual Partnership Cooperation Programme (IPCP) between Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry and NATO, the second coordination meeting for the Partner Capacity Coherence Initiative took place in Baku.

The meeting involved experts from NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum’s Mobile Training Team and specialists from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, The Caspian Post reports, citing the ministry.

Major General Vugar Aliverdiyev highlighted the importance of regularly conducted training courses within the framework of the IPCP, aimed at familiarizing Azerbaijani servicemen with NATO standards. These courses cover areas such as operational planning, command-and-control procedures, as well as the planning and execution of NATO-style exercises at both operational and tactical levels.

Both sides expressed their confidence that the upcoming exercise will further enhance Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation, improve the operational training capabilities of the Azerbaijani Army in line with NATO standards, and contribute to regional peace and stability. The positive performance of Azerbaijani military personnel in peacekeeping missions and other areas of partnership with NATO was also acknowledged.

During the meeting, the participants discussed various mutual interests and signed a protocol of mutual understanding regarding the upcoming exercise.
