Azerbaijan Resumes Ice Cream Imports from China After More Than Nine Years

Azerbaijan has resumed importing ice cream from China for the first time in more than nine years.

Figures from the State Statistics Committee show that Azerbaijan imported 6.24 tons of Chinese ice cream worth $81,500 during January-April 2026, marking the return of Chinese products to the market after a lengthy hiatus, The Caspian Post reports via Report.

Overall, Azerbaijan imported 205 tons of ice cream valued at $1.35 million during the first four months of the year. Compared with the same period in 2025, import volumes declined by 4.7%, while the total value of imports fell by 1%.

Türkiye remained Azerbaijan's largest supplier by value, exporting 61.6 tons of ice cream worth $504,000, although shipments declined by 31% in volume and 21% in value year-on-year.

Imports from Russia reached 63 tons worth $402,000, with volumes rising 5% and the value increasing 9% compared with the previous year.

Meanwhile, Belarus supplied 40.5 tons of ice cream valued at $187,000, down 20% in volume and 9% in value from the same period last year.
