Azerbaijan’s Baku Prepares to Host Second International Water Management Conference

Just days remain until the 2nd International Exhibition and Conference for Water Management - Baku Water Week, taking place on 10-12 September at the Baku Expo Centre.

The event will bring the latest technologies and innovative solutions in the water sector to Azerbaijan, attracting government bodies, international companies, experts, and professional visitors from around the world, The Caspian Post informs via local media.

As the region’s largest water-focused event, Baku Water Week offers participants unique networking opportunities, access to cutting-edge technologies, and direct dialogue with global experts. The event is organised with the support of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency and serves as a vital platform for exchanging ideas, presenting initiatives, and discussing solutions to pressing water challenges.

The first day will feature presentations such as “Complete Water Treatment Solutions” and “Achieving Guaranteed Results through Comprehensive Engineering of Water Supply and Wastewater Facilities”, alongside case sessions on “Global Climate Change: Managing Drought Risks in Azerbaijan” and expert discussions on the Caspian Sea’s current state and sustainable wastewater management.

On 11 September, the 2nd International Conference for Water Management, themed “Water for Tomorrow: From Scarcity to Strategy”, will be held. The conference will bring together representatives from state institutions, international organisations, private sector leaders, and leading local and international experts, with more than 40 speakers from nearly 10 countries expected.

The programme includes a plenary session on “Leadership in Water Governance: Regional and Global Perspectives”, as well as panel discussions on water infrastructure and digitalisation, alternative water resources, cross-border water diplomacy, and sustainable water management through science and innovation.

During the conference, memoranda of understanding and public-private partnership agreements will be signed, including between ACWA Power and the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency and between ACWA Power and the Water and Amelioration Scientific Research Institute. The conference will also host an award ceremony for the Hackathon winners and highlight panel discussion participants.

Gold Sponsors of the conference are AquaLink Azerbaijan and Hydrolog.

On 12 September, the 6th Caspian Water Innovation Forum, organised by AquaLink Azerbaijan, will address key regional water issues under the slogan “Adding Value to Water”. The forum will feature four panels: advanced water technologies, environmental protection, recycling technologies, and the application of innovative water management solutions.

The forum will host representatives from the State Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Ministry of Economy, as well as international companies from over 10 countries and leading Azerbaijani academic institutions.

Alongside the forum, B2B and B2G meetings will facilitate partnerships between government agencies, private companies, and innovative start-ups, providing a practical platform for collaboration.
