Azerbaijan, World Bank Discuss Implementation of Renewable Energy Project

On January 27, Samir Akhundov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA), received a delegation of the World Bank, led by Roger Coma Cunill, Senior Energy Specialist and Task Team Leader.

The meeting focused on the implementation of the appraisal for the Azerbaijan Scaling-Up Renewable Energy Project (AZURE), taking into account the revised project scope, The Caspian Post reports, citing the agency.

The progress on technical assistance supporting the energy sector was also discussed.

The parties also exchanged views on tariff policy, reviewed proposed areas of support from the World Bank, and explored prospects for future cooperation.
