Azerbaijani and Belarusian Defense Ministers Discuss Regional Security Challenges

According to the Ministry of Defense, the official visit of Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to the Republic of Belarus is ongoing.

As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation laid a wreath at the Victory Monument in Victory Square, Minsk, in honor of the fallen, The Caspian Post reports via the Defense Ministry.

An official welcoming ceremony for Minister Zakir Hasanov was held at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus. The defense ministers passed in front of the Guard of Honor, and the national anthems of both countries were performed.

Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, held a bilateral meeting. The sides discussed regional security issues, prospects for expanding military cooperation, and other matters of mutual interest.

As part of the visit program, the Azerbaijani delegation also visited the Faculty of the General Staff at the Military Academy of the Armed Forces of Belarus, where they were briefed on the military education system, personnel training, faculty structure, and objectives.

Additionally, the Azerbaijani Minister of Defense was briefed on the key activities of the Central Command Post (CCP) of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Forces.
