Azerbaijani Religious Leader Takes Key Role in International Interfaith Organization Promoting Global Peace

Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade has been elected co-president of the international interfaith organization “Religions for Peace” and appointed as a member of its World Council.

Pashazade’s election comes after his tenure on the board of the International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) and the Muslim Council of Elders, underscoring Azerbaijan’s growing role as a hub for civilizations and interfaith dialogue globally, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

Founded in 1970, “Religions for Peace” is the world’s largest interfaith organization committed to promoting peace. At the World Council’s latest conference in Istanbul on July 29, 2025, Pashazade was elected co-president, with the organization’s head sending a formal written message to the CMO in recognition of his appointment.
