Bayramov: Armenia Must Revise Constitution, Meet TRIPP Commitments

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated during a year-end briefing that US representatives are currently engaged in negotiations regarding the TRIPP project in Armenia, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.

The minister noted that the TRIPP project is reflected in the Washington agreements:

"In this context, cooperation between the US and Armenia has already been established. This project is important for the US and President Trump even gave the project his name. Currently, US representatives are in Armenia conducting negotiations. The format is bilateral; however, we have already communicated Azerbaijan"s expectations and legitimate interests to them. We believe they will be taken into account."

Bayramov emphasized the particular significance of the project:

"The creation of a connection between Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was already foreseen in the 2020 agreement, but over the years, Armenia has not taken any steps. Azerbaijan immediately began work on its territory, and it is now nearly complete. Armenia has not carried out any work on its side. I cannot assess the reasons-they may be internal or external-but the fact remains: nothing has been accomplished over these years."
