German Media Spotlight Historic Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Deal

Germany’s leading media outlets have provided extensive coverage of the high-level meeting in Washington involving Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, US President Donald Trump, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, spotlighting the historic agreement reached by the three leaders.

The reports emphasized the significance of the Joint Declaration signed during the summit, which aims to formally end decades of conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan while laying the groundwork for enhanced regional cooperation, The Caspian Post reports via German media.

Media coverage also highlighted the launch of the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity,” a strategic corridor that will ensure unhindered movement between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

In a major diplomatic development, both Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders jointly called on the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to dissolve the Minsk Group and associated bodies - a move they framed as a step toward a more effective peace framework grounded in mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Additionally, the coverage noted the signing of bilateral agreements involving the United States, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. Among them was a “Memorandum of Cooperation” between Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and US energy giant ExxonMobil.
