Ukraine has claimed a major strike against Russian security infrastructure, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy saying Ukrainian special forces hit a Russian Federal Security Service's headquarters and destroyed a Pantsir-S1 air defense system in occupied territory.
In a statement, Zelenskyy said the operation was carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine’s Special Operations Center “A,” describing the mission as a successful blow against Russian military capabilities, The Caspian Post reports via Zelenskyy's message on X.
The Ukrainian president noted that the strike targeted the Federal Security Service's command facility and resulted in nearly 100 Russian personnel killed or wounded.
Zelenskyy also stated that a Russian Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile system was destroyed during the operation, further weakening Russian air defense assets in occupied areas.
“There are good results from the warriors of the Ukrainian Security Service's Special Operations Center ‘A,’” Zelenskyy said, adding that Russia “must feel” the consequences of continuing the war.
The claims have not been independently verified, and there has been no immediate official response from Russia regarding the reported attack.
