Italy has outlined its cooperation priorities with Azerbaijan through 2028, according to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry recalled that Italian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Edmondo Cirielli visited Baku on January 13, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.
During the visit, political consultations between the ministries were held, and Cirielli also participated in the sixth meeting of the Azerbaijan-Italy Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
Following the meeting, the commission co-chairs approved a Joint Action Plan for 2026-2027 (including 65 events in 18 areas - ed.), aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in a number of areas.
"The commission's work culminated in the development of an action plan that provides for the development of cooperation not only in priority sectors such as energy, but also in other promising areas-healthcare, infrastructure, space, the agri-food sector, customs cooperation, and tourism-and in sensitive areas, including humanitarian demining," the ministry said in a statement.
