Niagara Falls was illuminated in the colors of the Azerbaijani national flag to celebrate Azerbaijan’s Independence Day on May 28, creating a striking visual tribute at one of the world’s most famous natural landmarks.
The iconic waterfall, located on the border between Canada and the United States, glowed in blue, red and green as part of a special event organized jointly by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan and the “Vatan” Azerbaijani Arts and Culture Center in Canada, The Caspian Post reports via Azertac.
Members of the Azerbaijani community gathered at Niagara Falls waving national flags and celebrating the occasion with traditional Azerbaijani music and dances. Visitors and tourists joined the festivities, taking photographs against the illuminated waterfall and learning more about Azerbaijan’s Independence Day.
