Romanian Senator Highlights Friendship with Azerbaijan by Climbing Heydar Aliyev Peak

Cristian-Augustin Niculescu-Țâgârlaș, a Romanian Senator representing Maramureș province and member of the Romania-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group, successfully climbed Heydar Aliyev Peak (3,751 meters) in the Gizil Gaya massif of the Bashdag range during his official visit to Azerbaijan.

The senator dedicated the ascent to the memory of Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s national leader, emphasizing his significant role in shaping the country’s history and strengthening strategic ties between Azerbaijan and Romania, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

Senator Niculescu-Țâgârlaș was accompanied by Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Romania, Gudsi Osmanov, Sanan Rasulov, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Mountaineering Federation, and renowned mountaineer Sima Safarova, who guided the expedition.

During the visit, the delegation also met a group of Romanian climbers who had previously conquered Bazarduzu Peak. The climbers shared their experience, praising Azerbaijan’s scenic landscapes and the hospitality of its people.
