SOCAR, QazaqGaz Explore New Gas Cooperation Opportunities

Kazakhstan's QazaqGaz national gas company and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) have discussed prospects for deeper cooperation in the gas sector during high-level talks held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of a scientific and practical conference marking “20 years of strategic cooperation in the gas sector between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China,” bringing together key energy players from across the region, The Caspian Post reports via QazaqGaz.

During the discussions, QazaqGaz Chairman Alibek Zhamauov and SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf reviewed opportunities for expanding partnership and strengthening ties in the gas industry.

On the same platform, QazaqGaz also held talks with Turkmengaz Chairman Maksat Babayev and Chairperson of the China National Petroleum Corporation, Dai Houliang.

Participants exchanged views on current developments in the energy sector and explored new avenues for cooperation, including joint initiatives aimed at strengthening regional energy partnerships.

QazaqGaz emphasized its continued commitment to expanding international collaboration, highlighting its role in enhancing energy security and fostering cooperation at both regional and global levels.
