Ashgabat Hosts Talks on Climate Finance for Central Asia

Climate finance for Central Asia, both regional and national perspectives, was discussed at a panel during the opening of the 7th Central Asia Climate Change Conference (CACCC-2025) in Ashgabat.

The session is moderated by William Hines, Senior Climate Change Economist and Co-Director of C3A at the World Bank, The Caspian Post reports citing Turkmenportal.

The presentation "From aid to action: combating climate change through finance - a UK perspective" was presented by Ambassador Stephen Conlon.

Head of Cooperation of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Kazakhstan Johannes Baur spoke about the EU's commitments to climate finance in Central Asia.

New funding opportunities for Central Asia from the Italian Climate Fund were presented by Alessandra Fidanza, Senior Expert at the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security.

The panel discussion will focus on financial solutions and the use of practical financing instruments to accelerate the implementation of national and regional climate priorities in Central Asia.
