Experts from Central Asia have recently made their inaugural visit to the Simon Bolivar Institute for Peace and Solidarity in Caracas, where they discussed potential joint research projects in digital transformation, regional integration, intercultural dialogue, peacebuilding, and sustainable development, marking a key step toward strengthening academic collaboration between Central Asia and Latin America.

During the meeting, Sheradil Baktygulov, Director of the World Politics Institute of Kyrgyzstan, and Taissiya Marmontova, Head of Kazakhstan’s Institute for the Study of Regional Integration (ISRI), held discussions with Blanca Eekhout, President of the Simon Bolivar Institute, affiliated with Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.

Marmontova highlighted the importance of building academic ties and establishing a strong analytical foundation to enhance cooperation between Central Asia and South America.

Eekhout, in turn, expressed Venezuela’s readiness to expand partnerships with Central Asian research institutions and emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts in promoting peace, global solidarity, and cultural exchanges.

This visit, conducted under an official invitation from Venezuela, was part of a broader program aimed at familiarizing Central Asian experts with the country’s socio-economic and political dynamics.

The meeting concluded with mutual agreement to advance academic exchanges and implement joint research projects between Central Asian and Latin American institutions.
