On September 2, during Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to Kyrgyzstan, the two countries signed bilateral documents aimed at further strengthening cooperation.
The agreements cover political, trade and economic, law enforcement, and humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kabar.
As part of the signing ceremony, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also signed a joint statement.
List of signed documents:
- Extradition Agreement between the Government of Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan;
- Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan;
- Agreement on Transit Trade between the Cabinet of Ministers and the Government of Pakistan;
- Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2026-2027;
- Memorandum of Understanding on Environmental Protection and Climate Change between the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Protection of Pakistan;
- Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Education between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Federal Education and Vocational Training of Pakistan;
- Memorandum of Cooperation on Virtual Assets in the Field of Virtual Assets between the National Agency for Virtual Assets and Blockchain Technologies and the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority of Pakistan;
- Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Pakistan;
- Agreement on Cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry;
- Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Medical Education between the Ministry of Health and the Medical and Dental Council of Pakistan;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs and Narcotics Control of Pakistan on cooperation in combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, new psychoactive substances, their precursors and related issues;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the National Institute for Strategic Initiatives and the Institute for Strategic Studies in Islamabad;
- Memorandum of Understanding in the field of scientific research and cooperation between the National Institute for Strategic Initiatives and the National Defense University of Pakistan;
- Agreement on establishing sisterly relations between the cities of Osh and Lahore;
- Agreement of bilateral intention between "Kyrgyz Post" OJSC and "Pakistan Post" on mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of postal services and e-commerce.
