The 7th Ethnosport Culture Festival began in Istanbul on May 22, uniting more than 1,000 athletes from 35 countries in a lively celebration of traditional sports, cultural heritage, and family values.
Azerbaijan is represented at the event by a 100-member delegation from the State Border Service, organized by the Azerbaijan Equestrian Federation, including 20 renowned Karabakh horses, The Caspian Post reports citing Azertac.
The Azerbaijani tent, located on the grounds of Atatürk Airport, showcases elements of the country’s rich national heritage, such as traditional carpets, publications, and kelaghayis. Captivating visitors from the outset, the tent welcomed over a thousand guests on the festival’s opening day.
Running through May 25, the festival will feature six performances by the Karabakh horses, alongside a wide range of traditional competitions-from mounted archery and belt wrestling to historic board games like Mangala and 19 Taş.
