The Hunarmand Association, along with several other organizations, organized a festival in Tashkent to showcase national costumes.
About 100 traditional costumes promoting Uzbek national customs and traditions were presented at the event, which was held to attract public interest in national crafts, promote local traditions, and increase the tourist potential of Uzbekistan, The Caspian Post reports citing Uzbek media.
The chapan, a dress and vest sewn from scraps, and metal jewelry attracted the special attention of foreign guests.
The participants noted that national costumes are not only part of the material heritage, but also the pride of the people, and that it is necessary to raise the culture towards them among young people, especially girls.
The festival program also included performances by artists and masterclasses by artisans.
