The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) has officially activated the Agreement to establish a Simplified Customs Corridor, aimed at enhancing trade and transport connectivity among Turkic-speaking countries.

Signed at the OTS Summit in Samarkand on November 11, 2022, the agreement came into force on November 29, 2024, The Caspian Post reports, citing the OTS.

According to an OTS statement titled "A Step Forward for Stronger Trade Collaboration and Transport Connectivity," the initiative seeks to streamline customs procedures, promote digital data exchange, and reduce transit times, all of which will foster greater economic cooperation between member states.
