Oil exports from Russia and Central Asian countries in September averaged 6.3 million barrels per day, which is 0.193 million bpd or 3% more than in August, OPEC said in its monthly report, The Caspian Post reports citing Interfax.
Exports of crude oil from the region fell 2% compared to September 2023.
The month-on-month increase in exports was primarily due to growth in supplies via the Transneft system - from Ust-Luga and Primorsk as well as the Druzhba oil pipeline - to ports on the Baltic Sea. This was partly compensated by a fall in supplies from the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk.
Exports via the Transneft system in September rose around 3% or 117,000 bpd MoM to 3.9 million bpd, which is 127,000 bpd or 3% more than a year ago. Shipments through Novorossiysk fell 10% MoM or 62,000 bpd, to 542,000 bpd. Shipments from the Baltic Sea increased 15% or 205,000 bpd MoM to 1.6 million bpd, from Primorsk they grew almost 6% or 45,000 bpd to 833,000 bpd and from Ust-Luga they grew by 27% or 161,000 bpd to 754,000 bpd.
Deliveries via the Druzhba oil pipeline increased 32% or 69,000 bpd MoM, averaging 282,000 bpd. However, supplies fell 11% or 34,000 bpd year-on-year. Exports to China via the ESPO pipeline in September fell 9% or 53,000 bpd to 575,000 bpd, which was 1% or just 7,000 bpd less than in September 2023. Deliveries via the Pacific port of Kozmino fell 5% to 42,000 bpd MoM to 888,000 bpd but rose 9% or 76,000 bpd YoY.
Exports via Lukoil's Varandey terminal in the Barents Sea in September grew 46,000 bpd or 54% MoM to 76,000 bpd amid increasing exports to India. This was 31% or 31,000 bpd more than in September 2023.
Exports from the Sakhalin port of Aniva in September fell 33% or 24,000 bpd MoM, while they grew 3% or 5,000 bpd from the port of De-Kastri. Overall exports from both ports averaged 213,000 bpd in September.
Oil exports from Central Asia stood at 219,000 bpd in September, down around 1% or 3,000 bpd MoM and YoY, OPEC said.
Exports of crude oil from the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC)'s terminal grew around 6% or 77,000 bpd MoM to 1.3 million bpd, but fell 8% or 109,000 bpd YoY.
Pumping via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline fell 25,000 bpd or 3% to 544,000 bpd, which is 127,000 bpd or 19% lower than a year ago.
Petroleum product exports from Russia and Central Asia in September increased by 6% or 122,000 bpd MoM to 2.2 million bpd, primarily due to an increase in gasoil and naphtha. This was partly compensated by a fall in exports of gasoline. Exports fell 6% or 152,000 bpd YoY amid a significant fall in gasoline and naphtha exports.
