Georgia Vows to Deepen Economic Ties with China, EU, and US

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has reaffirmed his government’s strong commitment to deepening economic cooperation with China, while also strengthening strategic partnerships with Europe and the US.

Kobakhidze emphasized that Georgia remains firmly focused on enhancing its role as a vital bridge between East and West, The Caspian Post reports, citing Georgian media.

“We have long connected the West and the East, Europe and Asia, and from this perspective, our role remains crucial. However, our main objective is to further strengthen this role in the national interest,” said the prime minister.

To that end, Kobakhidze noted that Georgia is making significant investments in road and rail infrastructure, as well as in ports and airports, to support its growing logistical and transit ambitions.

He further stressed Georgia’s geographic advantage, pointing out that the country links seven nations to the sea, and therefore to Europe and the wider Western world-a strategic position the government intends to leverage fully by deepening cooperation with neighboring and partner countries.

“In this context, economic cooperation with China is extremely important, as is our economic partnership with Europe and the US. In all these directions, we will do everything possible to further strengthen Georgia’s role as a key connector,” Kobakhidze stated.
