Strong Winds Damage Georgia's Batumi

Strong winds in Batumi have caused significant disruptions, damaging residential buildings and resulting in localized flooding in various parts of the city.

Adjara Autonomous Republic Government says several roofs were damaged, including a residential building on Ivane Meskhi Street, while a building façade was affected on Pirosmani Street. Parts of the Old Boulevard were also flooded due to the severe weather, The Caspian Post reports, citing Georgia Today.

The government reported that three flooding incidents were recorded overnight. Drainage wells, grates, and channels leading to the sea were intensively cleaned throughout the night, and the situation has since been brought under control.

Authorities confirmed that there are no water supply disruptions, and public transportation continues to operate normally. Relevant services remain on standby to respond to any further weather-related incidents.
