Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili may travel to Iran to take part in funeral ceremony of Iranian former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Foreign delegations from several countries, including Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, are expected to attend the funeral ceremony scheduled for July 9, The Caspian Post reports via Georgia Online.
Iran's vice president said senior foreign officials attending the event are also expected to hold bilateral meetings with Iranian counterparts on the sidelines of the ceremony.
According to previous reports, Ali Khamenei was killed on February 28 in a joint US-Israeli strike on Tehran, along with close members of his family. Following his death, his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was selected as his successor.
