Iran is preparing for an official visit by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baghaei said the visit is being planned, adding that the exact date and timing will be announced once finalized, The Caspian Post reports via Parliament Newspaper.

The planned trip follows Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi's visit to St. Petersburg in April, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. After the meeting, Araghchi described Iran's partnership with Russia as strategic and said bilateral relations would continue to deepen.
