Oman has summoned Iran's ambassador to Muscat and delivered an official note of protest following drone attacks on several sites in the Omani provinces of Musandam and Al Wusta.
Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs Sheikh Khalid bin Hashel Al Muslahi met with Iranian Ambassador Mousa Farhang to convey Muscat's formal protest over the reported drone strikes, The Caspian Post reports via Anadolu.
During the meeting, Omani officials expressed deep concern over the attacks and called on Iran to respect the sovereignty of states, uphold the principles of good-neighborly relations and non-interference in internal affairs, and preserve the shared historical ties and values that connect the peoples of Oman and Iran.
The protest note was issued in response to drone strikes targeting multiple locations in the provinces of Musandam and Al Wusta, the Foreign Ministry said.
