The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration has announced that Iran’s non-oil imports from Türkiye decreased in the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 22, 2025), both in value and volume, compared to the same period last year.

The value of imports fell by 2.16 per cent to $2.6 billion, while the total weight declined by 7.5 per cent to 2.1 million tons, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.

During the same period last year, imports from Türkiye totaled $2.65 billion, with a weight of 2.27 million tons.

The shipments mainly consisted of equipment, food products, raw materials, textiles, and other goods.

Meanwhile, the overall trade turnover between Iran and Türkiye reached approximately $4.26 billion, with a total weight of 5.43 million tons. Compared with the same period in 2024, trade value fell 1.6 per cent, while trade volume rose 5.5 per cent.

Experts note that Iran prioritizes the import of essential goods to meet domestic demand, while imports of products already manufactured locally are subject to specific restrictions.
