Germany’s flagship carrier Lufthansa has expressed its readiness to resume flights to Iran, signaling a potential return of international air connections following the reopening of the country’s airspace.

The issue was discussed during a meeting between executives of Lufthansa Group and representatives of Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport, The Caspian Post reports via Mehr News.

The talks come after Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization announced on June 8 that all restrictions on the country’s airspace had been lifted, paving the way for the gradual restoration of international flight operations.
