Iran has not yet made a final decision regarding a proposal from the United States that was delivered through Pakistani mediation and is still evaluating the initiative, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated.
Baghaei stated that the main foreign policy matter currently under discussion concerns the war, the ceasefire process, and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict and restoring peace and stability across the region, The Caspian Post reports, citing Anadolu.
According to the spokesman, recent talks with Pakistani officials centered on Iran’s suggested framework, referred to as a “14-point proposal,” which had been passed on to the United States through Pakistan.
He noted that Iranian authorities are continuing to examine the proposal and that Tehran will share its conclusions with the Pakistani mediator once internal consultations and assessments are completed.
“Based on the outcome of these message exchanges, the next step will be decided,” Baghaei said.
When asked whether Tehran had already delivered an official response to Washington, Baghaei confirmed that no reply has yet been provided.
“We are still reviewing the proposal. We need to reach a conclusion first, and we will definitely inform the public afterward,” he added.
